my lovely-jubbely depressing poem

for me, every day is a day spent worrying and wondering
why don't we do something with our lives?
everyday is a day spent watching people change
watching my old world dissolve before my very eyes

watching people listen to me less and less
and talk about themselves more and more
looking like they've given up
but i think they know
that's all they're living for

watching them talking and thinking
about things i know they never would
sometimes i think i ought to talk to them
and sometimes i know i should

every day people care about different things
every day people change
an ever-changing turmoil
i just wish it would stay the same.
